Have you ever noticed that all professional gynmastics competitions take place on rectangular trampolines? Although traditionally slightly less bouncy than a traditional round trampoline you get a more even bounce across the whole trampoline (rather than just one central 'sweet-spot' which means they are well suited to gymnasts practicing flips, tricks and tumbles.
